VOLVO S90 RECHARGE T8 shows off its magnificent style

Volvo Car Malaysia has recently launched the updated Volvo S90 Recharge, which features a shiny new exterior and interior with the latest leading safety and technology features. The updated Volvo S90 Recharge T8 plug-in hybrid sedan offers an exceptional driving experience in terms of luxury, safety and sustainability.

This updated version of the luxury four-door, five-seat flagship sedan is based on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform and is powered by the Volvo Drive-E powertrain with a T8 twin-charged petrol engine and rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The Volvo S90 2022 Recharge T8 is powered by the Volvo Drive-E powertrain with a T8 twin-charged petrol engine and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, delivering 407 hp and 640 Nm of torque.

The combination of a four-cylinder engine and a powerful electric engine results in a powerful and capable driving force while helping to reduce CO2 emissions. This powertrain is also used in all Volvo vehicles built on the SPA platform architecture and has underpinned the recent launch of the 90 and 60 series vehicles.

Akhtar Sulaiman, Director of Marketing and PR for Volvo Car Malaysia, said: “The Volvo S90 is the embodiment of luxury for us, and now with a reinvigorated design, we want to redefine the concept of stylish driving control and show how luxury can also be equated with safety excellence. From the chrome exterior to the more refined trim, to the refreshed cabin and clean, crisp exterior design, the sedan aesthetic is a complete expression of Scandinavian luxury. In addition, the T8 twin-charged petrol engine in the Volvo S90 Recharge T8 will provide an even more refined, responsive and powerful driving experience for the driver.”

Minimalist design and chic style

Like the XC90, the S90 Recharge T8 continues the Volvo sedan’s rich aesthetic heritage through Volvo’s strikingly elegant design. It combines minimalist design and chic style to create a premium look that makes the key Volvo aesthetic features visible, including the LED headlamp design known as ‘Thor’s Hammer’, the vertical chrome grille with the Volvo Iron Mark and the prominent and sharp Volvo logo at the rear of the car. The rear lights of the Volvo S90 Recharge T8 have also been updated with a design similar to that of the recently launched Volvo S60 T8 R-Design, thus bringing luxury and sporting style together.

The Scandinavian Scandinavian iconography has also been integrated into the cabin interior to further enhance the overall look and feel, and the Sensus user interface, with its vertical air conditioning blades, premium perforated leather front seats and sunroof, raises the bar for elegant aesthetics.

Easy user access to entertainment and safety settings

The Sensus in-car user interface built into the Volvo S90 Recharge T8 ensures that the driver is always connected through intuitive technology and personalized convenience settings. An intuitive 9-inch portrait touchscreen allows quick and easy access to all safety functions, while the in-car entertainment app provides an immersive media and audio experience.

The S90 Recharge T8 introduces a fully upgraded Bowers & Wilkins audio system with a total of 19 speakers delivering 1400W of output for a truly premium in-car audio system performance. The iconic tweeters located above the dashboard are seamlessly integrated into the S90 Recharge T8’s gorgeous design profile.

The S90 Recharge T8 speaker system also features Bowers & Wilkins’ exclusive Nautilus TM speaker technology for an incredibly clear and immersive listening experience. Multiple speaker updates, such as a new double dome aluminum tweeter using Continuum TM composite material, and a new generation of midrange speaker cones, produce a more refined, pure and natural sounding production.

Unique features in different music background modes, such as the precise acoustic quality of the famous Gothenburg Concert Hall mode, and the Jazz Club mode, allow the driver and passengers to experience an instant transfer to the sound sensation of a Swedish theatre or a first-class jazz club seat.
